Towne Park Homeowners Association, established 1984

WELCOME TO TOWNE PARK, a private and relatively secure, gated community consisting of 486 town homes without any common house walls, situated on approximately seventy acres. Located in Albuquerque’s northeast heights, Towne Park affords its residents a serene and appealing refuge from the noise and chaos of New Mexico’s largest city, without sacrificing the advantage of life in the city itself.  Towne Park’s great location affords close and convenient access to Albuquerque’s many cultural, commercial and recreational amenities.  Access to most shopping needs is literally within walking distance of our front gate.

Towne Park is an environment where our community’s continuous high owner-occupancy rate contributes to a well-maintained look and feel that ensures steady and increasing property values.  Towne Park was developed in phases beginning in the early 1980’s, and was completed by about 1991.   Initially envisioned as a sort of green oasis in the high desert with its two parks, pond, shady walkways, green lawns, and many trees, much of Towne Park’s original vision remains enjoyably intact.  As water conservation evolved into a city-wide priority, Towne Park evolved with it, maturing into a community that welcomes xeriscape and encourages water conservation.  The resulting blend of well maintained traditional lawn and xeriscaped front yards featuring an imaginative variety of native plants that thrive in our high, dry desert climate, is both diverse and aesthetically pleasing.

Towne Park’s other amenities include a spacious clubhouse, two swimming pools, saunas, tennis courts, basketball courts, and a children’s playground.  High perimeter walls ensure privacy and enhanced security than open neighborhoods.  Architectural modifications are carefully controlled, and with some permissible variations, homes and structures within the community follow a pleasant “earth tones” color theme.  A number of home designs, each with distinctly different and attractive facades underscore the concept of a community that is attractively uniform without giving the appearance of “biscuit cutter” monotony.  As Towne Park matures, the distinctive character of its various neighborhoods has become more pronounced, without any sacrifice of the underlying architectural themes and constraints that maintain the integrity and value of this unique community.
